When you’re a little girl, playing dress up is a big part of growing up.  Putting on mommy’s makeup, “walking” in her high heels and playing pretend.  One of my – and lots of little girls’ – favorite things to do is dressing up like a princess.  But, alas, unless you are born into it, it’s a hard gig to get.  Just ask Kate Middleton.  So when I met a woman who when she grew up turned herself into a Princess, I had to know more about her.

I still remember the first time I saw Princess Donna.  It was at Peter Acworth’s 40^th birthday party.  I was sharing a lovely plate of brie with my friend Lady Ripplee when she pointed her out.  The first thing I noticed is how incredibly striking she is.  She was talking to someone at the time, and she looked so nice and friendly.  A slave girl was right in front of us face down, and I saw Princess Donna come up behind her.  The nice look was gone in a flash, and suddenly her face was stone cold. She then began to fist this young lady with all her might.  It came as quite a surprise to me when I found out that Donna was, indeed, the Princess of Pain.  Princess Donna runs the Public Disgrace site at Kink.com.  She came up with the concept, and she is also the director.  I finally got a chance to talk to her one night at the Castle.

I have been following her on Twitter http://twitter.com/Princess_DonnaD and she calls herself the awkward pornographer.  I asked her to tell me how she became a pornographer.  She laughed and told me when she was in college she was a stripper.  A friend of Donna’s told her about a company that she did fetish modeling with.  They tied you up and did all this crazy stuff to you.  So, Donna decided to start doing fetish modeling with a company called Intersec Interactive out of New York. “I had been to BDSM clubs before, and I had watched but I had never played.   My first time playing was on camera.  It was super intense, but, I thought, I could do this.  I am good at this.”   She worked for Intersec all throughout college.  When she graduated she applied for the director’s position at Kink for the Wired Pussy site and got it.  She moved out to California a few months later and has been with Kink ever since.

I asked her how the Public Disgrace site came to fruition.  “I developed Public Disgrace.  I had done some public stuff with Wired Pussy.  We did a trip to New York where we did all this stuff in Times Square.  It was really exciting for me, so Public Disgrace stemmed from that.”  Public Disgrace is one of the more popular sites on Kink.com.  It was also nominated for an AVN Award for Best alternative website.  One of the draws is that they ask people from the community to participate.  I have been to two of the shoots, and both times it was a blast.  You really do get into the mob mentality of it, and it becomes fun to torture a girl.

I have only seen Princess Donna be dominant, but I have seen photos of her being topped, so it begged the question, does she consider herself a switch?

“I mostly do dominant scenes these days, but I am definitely a switch, and I do submissive scenes occasionally as well.”

I asked Princess Donna if she knew she was kinky from a young age.  She told me she had always experimented sexually with her friends as a child.  She calls herself queer, and she likes both men and women.

I asked her what her favorite thing was to do with someone when she is topping them.  She had to think about that for a moment.  I can understand why, I have seen her with a cattle prod, ropes, a riding crop and, of course, her fist.  The possibilities are pretty much endless at the Castle.   “I like to scare people, and that is why the cattle prod is used so much.  I’m really into Fear Play. Electricity is really good for that. And, I really like spitting on people and doing things that are degrading.”

I dug deeper into her attraction to spitting because it is such an integral part of the Public Disgrace.  She said, “I do it because it’s just wrong to have someone spit in your face.  It just is.”  She loves doing messy stuff and getting the models covered in filth.  I asked if her family knew because most people cannot tell their family members.  She said that her family not only knows, but they are extremely supportive.  Her mother has even come to the Public Disgrace shoots at times.  Both of her parents are fine with it, and they have been really great.  Princess Donna was not raised religious.  She said her parents were very liberal and they encouraged her to be her own person.

Princess Donna is notorious for fisting people at the Castle.  Nicki Blue even told me that Donna was the first person to fist her ass.  I had to know where that fascination came from, too.  She told me the first time she saw someone being fisted was in college at a BDSM club.  She was so impressed by it and thought it was so hot. She tried it with a girlfriend and has been a fan ever since.  I asked her what the sensation is like when your whole hand is thrust into a vagina.  I wondered if she could open her hand when it is in there.  “I can pulse, but I can’t open my hand all the way.”  She suggested that I try it sometime.  I think I may just have to.

Her advice?  Try it with someone who has small hands first.  I am open to all sorts of things, and I admit to being curious and frightened at the same time about fisting.  Who knows maybe I can get Princess Donna to fist me sometime at the Castle?  I asked her if she considers herself a Dominatrix, or an actress? How would she define herself?

“I consider myself to be a princess.  I like getting what I want, and I like people doing what I tell them to do.  I am kind of spoiled and bossy.  I don’t think of myself as an actress at all really.  I am pretty true to life.”  She told me that she never intended for Princess to be part of her name.  She just preferred to be called Princess to Mistress or Madame.  Like most nicknames, it just kind of stuck and that is how Donna became a Princess.

I asked her what her ambition was porn wise.  “I am starting another website  and I am very excited about that.  I hope to stay in the industry directing the best content that I can, doing stuff that a lot of people aren’t doing.”  I asked her the question that everyone asks me, which is do you find porn degrading to women?  “First of all the question is interesting why do we ask if porn is degrading to women but we don’t ask if it’s degrading to men.  I mean the entire question assumes that women don’t have their own sexual desires that they could voluntarily express on camera, in a way that is not degrading.  I think the question is kind of absurd.  I think anything has the potential to be degrading towards women, mainstream media, commercials, TV shows it’s all about how you do it.  So, I don’t think its inherently degrading.  I think you can play with being degraded in a way that is empowering, which is Public Disgrace.”
